ViewsForKids: I Don’t Want to Eat My Dinner
I Don't Want to Eat My Dinner is a creative resource to help fussy eaters find some fun at meal times. Parents are the key to this book working as a resource. If taken with a playful attitude, I believe it could do wonders. If not, it could entrench sensitivities to food.
In this book, the character repeats the title throughout, paired with an imaginative metaphor. For example, he morphs into a diplodocus and eat trees, which represent the broccoli on his plate. All of the metaphors lead to his plate being emptied, and then he can eat dessert.
The illustrations are particularly suited for the target audience - young boys. The images have rough and charcoal outlines and heaps of fun exaggerations.
I believe even non-fussy eaters would enjoy this one too.
