Stamped: Self-Improved
An introduction to me and the articles to follow. I'll explain how I view self-improvement and why it's important to me. Boil the kettle and join me for a cuppa?

Somehow, and for some unknown reason, I was dealt a bad card in life. In 2014 I had a psychosis. I now have schizoaffective disorder (feel free to look that bad boy up).
Despite this being a setback in the health of my brain, I’m starting to believe I’ve recovered as much as can be expected given the available medications. Sounds depressing if you put it that way, but it’s not. This blog will tell you the how’s and why’s of my recovery. But also, and more to the point, it will show you how each next thing I find, learn, or become in life makes me feel like I deserve a big fat ‘self-improved’ stamp, both illness-related and not.
Self-improvement is not a you-have-it-or-you-don’t phenomenon of its own. It’s like a paradox. Having achieved it doesn’t mean there is no more that can be achieved. Some may say it’s a spectrum, but I believe it is more like a colour wheel with two tones for every colour. Let me explain. You can have any known area of ability or skills (colour) and any known proficiency in that skill (tone lighter or darker in the colour’s spectrum).
However, even this analogy is flawed because life is even more complex than this. After all, we are no blobs of colour. We are multifaceted. We have sentience. We have different bodies with all their different genes, neurons, veins, muscles, organs, chemicals, and experiences. We live in a universe that even physicists cannot understand. That’s why self-improvement is such an interesting topic to me. It’s part of your life whether you look for it or you don’t....
Every human life. Now that’s important to me.
If you want to be a fly on the wall to one person’s striving to find what can make them and their life even greater, feel free to boil your kettle and join me for a cuppa. I’m hoping my posts will make you laugh, make you think, and inspire a little change – whatever that is for us.
Thanks for reading!
