Sleep, Beautiful, sleep...

Sleep, Beautiful, sleep…

Loving you even in your absence

Together we will weep

But we cannot help that it has happened

Don’t come to me in nightmares

But come to me in dreams

Despite it all I know you cared

But, alas, not all was as it seemed

We will hear your whispers in the wind

We will remember you at the mindful chime

At each regret, yes, we will cringe

Oh, beautiful brother of mine

From the depth of our hearts, we want you in our lives again

Even the niggles and frustrations

We would take them back and together mend

Dedicating strength to you without hesitation

Sleep, Beautiful, sleep…

Loving you even in your absence

Together we will weep

But we cannot help that it has happened

A good night’s sleep leads to a beautiful morning, waking in the dark early morning light.

That was today.

Even with bleak turns of life in the last weeks, comfort can be found in family and friendship bonds.

So once up, we went to the funeral home. Received our cemetery plot details for future reference. We will be buried with him one day: my brother.

He was taken by his mental health. Such a way to leach the life out of him, bit by bit for 16 years, and we are left life outcasts.

I’m waiting patiently for the days where I’m able to miss him without the trauma of finding him and the anger with his choice.

I know these memories of joy and love will one day dominate. But the grief I feel is a deep-seated respect for him and life that needs to be honoured.

I have always handled grief well due to the belief of it being respectful to the other and also myself.

I wish I didn’t have to live without him, but the more than that I do love life even with its ups and downs and will continue to live it. So, I will wait for the sunset today and every day I can.

Bitter and sweet,

Larz
